As an advocacy organization, education and advancement of issues important to our industry is paramount to our success. The Advocacy committee helps to shape public policy and provides a unified voice for travel and tourism in San Antonio through the creation and communication of position statements on critical issues affecting our membership. Through regular communication with elected officials and participation on various Boards & Commissions, the committee’s input and collaboration with other entities is crucial to the progress of our industry.


Raises awareness of career opportunities available in hospitality, promotes the impact and scope of our workforce in San Antonio, and seeks to create a pipeline of talented individuals to meet the demand of the hotel industry through strategic partnerships with local education programs and agencies.


From the San Antonio Pineapple Awards Gala to the Bed Making Competition, to the monthly luncheons, the Events Committee coordinates our biggest events of the year to provide education on issues and trends affecting the industry and honor the incredible contributions of our hospitality employees.


Membership is the lifeblood of any advocacy organization and the Member Value Committee seeks ways to provide new benefits and added value to SAHLA members through innovative strategy and enhanced communications efforts.
